Prior to co-founding Coast & Valley Properties, Bob spent 25 years with one of the world's largest international real estate firms, serving as Vice President and Branch Manager for offices in Santa Barbara, Montecito, and Santa Ynez.
During his tenure, Bob recruited, mentored, and supervised more than 200 real estate professionals while overseeing thousands of residential, commercial, and mortgage transactions. His extensive leadership responsibilities also included managing brokerage operations, developing agents, and maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence throughout the organization.
Bob played an integral role in numerous mergers and acquisitions of respected independent brokerages, successfully integrating them into the international brand. He was also instrumental in creating and implementing
innovative marketing strategies, education programs, and agent training initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels.
Under his leadership, the offices he managed consistently earned prestigious President's Elite and Premier Office designations, ranking among the top-performing offices nationwide.
In 2007, Bob and his wife, Debbie Merlo, fulfilled their vision of creating a boutique brokerage founded on experience, integrity, and personalized service by establishing Coast & Valley Properties.
